Matt Miller was elected to the Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission in November 2014. His motivation to run for the elected position spurred by his love of aquatics and his desire to see a new competitive-length swimming pool in Ashland. Matt is a competitive masters swimmer and an assistant swim coach at Ashland High School. He represents members of the aquatics community in their mutual desire to see a new pool built in Ashland. Although aquatics is his primary motivator, Matt is also interested in the wide of range of responsibilities of an Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioner, including working on maintaining and improving Ashland's extensive trails system. Matt and his wife, Leah, are hikers, bike riders and avid outdoor enthusiasts. In 2009 they moved to Ashland, primarily for its wonderful trails system. Matt and Leah run an online carnivorous plant nursery in Ashland. Matt is excited about his opportunity to work for the greater enrichment of community members' lives.
