On January 11, 2016, the Mayor and City Council held the second annual State of the City celebration at the Community Center.
The program began with a welcome and introductions by Councilor Greg Lemhouse.
Councilor Rich Rosenthal gave a review of what the City of Ashland accomplished in 2015.

Following his speech, Councilor Pam Marsh joined Mayor Stromberg in thanking Representative Peter Buckley for his years of hard work. As a thank you they presented him a proclamation and a chair, permanently reserved at the Rogue Valley Roasting Company, where he continues to met with Ashland residents.
The final presentation of the night was the 2016 James M. Ragland "Volunteer Spirit" Award by Councilors Stef Seffinger and Michael Morris. The award this year was presented to the Soroptimist International of Ashland. You can read more about the work of the Ashland Soroptimist at their website or in the Ragland Award press release.
The evening ended with all the Councilors handing out cookies and everyone enjoying music by members of Eight Dollar Mountain!
