The City of Ashland Human Resources division coordinates services and programs which assist all city departments in recruiting and maintaining a qualified and diverse workforce, and provides employment-related services to the City's 200+ employees.

Employee relations, including labor negotiations with five organized bargaining units and a non-represented management/confidential group, is important and we place value in this HR role all year long. We work hard to collaborate and negotiate practices and workplace expectations to produce contracts that clearly outline the agreed upon documents that support our represented and non-represented groups.
Your information is organized and protected in HR. Employee personnel records, including confidential background investigations and health records are critical to a complete employment file and keeping the trust and confidence of our staff.
Processing and maintenance of Worker’s Compensation, Occupational Health and Safety and Drug Free Transportation Alliance records keeps you safe on the job and if you need help we’ll walk you through the process of filing a report for incidents or injuries.
