Annual Action Plan Available for Review
The City of Ashland anticipates an annual allocation of approximately $156,255 in Community Development Block Grant funds for Program Year 2013 (July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014) by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Following the recommendation of the Housing Commission, the City Council has identified that at total of $44,000 in available grant funds, is to be awarded to three projects: $16,607 to St. Vincent de Paul-Home Visitation Program for emergency rental and utility assistance, $6,831 to Maslow Project for outreach and case management for homeless youth enrolled in the Ashland School District, $14,566 to Living Opportunities to remodel their ACES employment building, and $87,000 in expected grant funds to the Ashland Emergency Food Bank (AEFB) to aquire the building which they currently lease, pending further fundraising efforts. This amount is added to the remaining fund balance from program year 2012 of $87,646, which was held in reserve for the AEFB brining the total two year award allocation to the AEFB to $174,646.
This document, the CDBG Action Plan for Program Year 2013, describes the project(s) that the City will undertake and the manner in which the project(s) are consistent with the priorities of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The plan shall be available for review on April 19th and is available via the City’s website atwww.ashland.or.us/2013CDBGActionplan or in hard copy at the Department of Community Development at 51 Winburn Way.
Public Comment on the 2013 CDBG Action Plan and 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan amendment can be submitted any time prior to May 20, 2013 or be presented to the Ashland Housing Commission at a public hearing on the draft plan on April 24th at 4:00pm at 1175 East Main Street.
