Ashland Parks & Recreation aims to provide recreational programs and events to promote emotional and physical wellbeing for community members. Course proposals are reviewed by Ashland Parks & Recreation staff and approved based on different factors.  Proposed schedules and class details are contingent on facility availability and subject to modification by staff.   
 
  • Instructors are subject to City of Ashland and APRD requirements for classification as an "Independent Contractor". This may include a contractual agreement with stipulations for general liability coverage,  passing background check, and holding a business license with the City of Ashland.
  • Independent Contractor Instructors are typically paid 60% of all fees collected for each class facilitated.
  • Course proposals must be submitted by the advertised deadline for inclusion into the Ashland Parks and Recreation Guide.
RECREATION SEASON COURSE SUBMISSION DEADLINES:

Winter/Spring (mid December-mid May)- End of September
Summer (mid May-August)- Beginning of February
Autumn (September- mid December)- End of May
