Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC) Adapted Programs are specifically designed for people with developmental, intellectual or physical disabilities. The programs are designed to focus on each individual's personal abilities and interests. As with most Ashland Parks & Recreation programs, pre-registration is required. To register for any of the Adapted Programs, please call the APRC office at 541-488-5340 (online registration is not available).
NEW PARTICIPANTS: Please complete the Adapted Supplemental Form and return it to the Parks office prior to the start of your program.
Friday Night Social
Join us for an evening of laid-back fun with games, movies, snacks and crafts! This is a great chance for parent or caregiver respite. All participants must be able to cooperate in a group environment. If 1:1 assistance is needed, participants should bring their own attendant (no extra charge). Gluten-free food choices available and a nut-free environment. Join your friends at Roxy Ann Lanes for a Sunday evening of bowling, playing in the arcade or just hanging out! Price includes cost of two games and shoes. Please bring extra money to purchase food (or bring your own food) and funds for the arcade. (No bowling outing in March)

Come and have an evening of music, dancing and fun at our new seasonal dances! Dress up in your best outfit or wear casual, it doesn't matter! All that matters is showing up and having a good time! There will also be food and drinks provided! This program is for individuals with special needs and their families and friends. Pre-registration is not required for this event.

This program is a small group aquatics program focusing on the development of stroke, breathing skills and basic water safety toward improvement of each participantís confidence in an aquatic environment. Participants should be independent enough to work in a 1:4 instructor-to-student ratio. Please bring your swim goggles.

Would you like the skills to defend yourself? Then karate is for you! Karate also teaches focus, patience, respect, honor and how to connect the mind, body and spirit. This program is for individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Skills and forms can be adjusted for each participant's personal abilities. High-ranked students from the Ashland Karate Academy who have spent years training under the Grand Master Hanshi Jerry Piddington will be instructing this class.
