Alert: As of July 15, face masks will be required in outdoor public spaces where physical distancing is not possible. This is in addition to masks being required for all indoor public spaces effective July 1. Get more updates, cancelations, and resources related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) here

Due to the effort to slow the transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the following trails are ONE-DIRECTION only as of April 2, 2020

The trails in and around Ashland are open, but some have restrictions and we ask you to please adhere to social distancing recommendations and stay a minimum of six (6) feet away from others and make your presence known. To prevent face-to-face run-ins on single track trails, AWTA (Ashland Woodlands Trail Association), in partnership with the US Forest Service and APR, have proposed the following ‘ONE-DIRECTION’ only trails:

  • Bandersnatch from Waterline to Alice is uphill-only
  • Bandersnatch East from Alice to 2060 is downhill-only
  • Red Queen from Bandersnatch to Caterpillar is uphill-only (lower Red Queen is not included)
  • The new section of Wonder (Lower Wonder) is uphill-only
