Yard Debris Disposal

Yard Debris is extra fuel for a wildfire
Yard debris can be extra fuel for a wildfire. Be proactive; clean it up and remove it to help protect your home from wildfire. Living in Ashland, you have local options for removing green/yard debris from your property. Here are some of those options:

Recology Ashland Sanitary Service
The Residential Green Debris Program is a great way to deal with green debris year round. Recology will provide 95-gallon green roll-carts that can be filled with lawn clippings, plant trimmings, leaves, and other plant materials (if it grows, it goes). Click HERE to visit Recology Ashland's page for a list of services and fee rates.

You can also haul your yard debris to the Valley View Transfer Station 6 days a week Monday-Saturday, from 7:30 AM – 4 PM. The transfer station is located at 3000 N Valley View Road, Ashland, OR 97520

Just leaves?
For certain months of the year you can bring your leaves to the Free Leaf Drop-Off at the Ashland Recycle Center at 220 Water Street. Open Monday-Saturday between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Recology Ashland also offers a Pre-Paid Leaf Bag Program during the fall season each year. You can purchase leaf only bags at the Recology Ashland Sanitary Service office at 170 Oak St. in Ashland. Place leaf bags on the curb on trash pickup day during GREEN DEBRIS & RECYCLE week. Call Recology Ashland Sanitary Service at (541) 482-1471 for more information.

Biomass One
Drop your yard and tree debris at Biomass to be turned into energy! No stumps accepted. Navigate HERE for details.

Do it yourself!
Rent your own brush chipper at a local rental store. Make sure the chipper can handle more than the diameter of the material you need to chip. Check the machine over (especially blades) and ask about any sharpening fees. Chips are OK in the landscape, but they should be at least 5 feet away from any structure (siding, decks, and wooden fences). As always, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and read all safety instructions before operating heavy machinery. Click here for Safety and Health Information regarding wood chippers.
