Ashland has a Council-Manager form of government, with much of the City's business evolving through citizen committees that enhance public support and political stability.
The City Council is elected to serve as the governing body for Ashland's 20,960 residents (PSU Population Research Center certified population for 2019). The Mayor, who presides at the Council meetings, is elected at-large for a four-year term. Six Council members are elected at-large for four-year staggered terms.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1175 E. Main Street. The Study Sessions are held the day before each regular meeting (typically the first and third Monday) at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

Public testimony will be accepted for both general public forum items and agenda items as long as submitted by the deadline. (

Please complete the online Public Testimony Form, for WRITTEN and ELECTRONIC testimony only. Indicate on the Public Testimony Form if you wish to provide WRITTEN testimony, or if you wish to speak ELECTRONICALLY during the meeting.
WRITTEN testimonies submitted by the deadline will be available to the Mayor and City Council before the meeting.
If you wish to provide ORAL public testimony for meetings, you will be asked to fill out a speaker request form prior to speaking. In person meetings take place in Council Chambers at 1175 E Main St.
All public testimony will be included in the meeting minutes.
