Ashland Emergency Shelter at 2200 Ashland St
Ashland Emergency Shelter At the August 15, 2023, City Council meeting, Council approved the purchase of a new property for an emergency shelter. The property is located at 2200 Ashland St.

The City will take possession of the property on September 15, 2023. Council and staff will be working with the neighborhood as well as additional partners to address operational questions and concerns prior to the shelter opening.

Jackson County has experienced a 132% rise in unsheltered homelessness. The State of Oregon is responding by providing grant funding to cities and counties to address homelessness under Governor Kotek’s state of emergency due to homelessness declaration (EO-23-02). The City of Ashland has been awarded a significant grant from the State of Oregon which has made this purchase possible.
