Emergency Severe Weather Shelter Open Jan 19 - 23
The City manager has declared a severe weather emergency and has authorized the opening of an emergency shelter beginning Thursday evening, January 19, to Monday morning, January 23, 2023.The severe weather shelter will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. at the Ashland Public Library, located at 410 Siskiyou Blvd, downstairs in the Gresham room. Dinner will not be provided on Thursday and Friday nights, a community meal will be available at Pioneer Hall at 4 p.m. on both nights. (Dinner will be available at the shelter Saturday and Sunday evenings.)
The doors will close for the night at 9 p.m. with lights out at 10 p.m. This is a no-frills shelter, which means individuals should plan on providing their own bedding. Only service animals are allowed in the Public Library.
