One-year anniversary celebration of the Ashland Japanese Garden on October 22
One-year anniversary celebration of the Ashland Japanese Garden in Lithia Park on Sunday, October 22, 2023
Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) and Southern Oregon Japanese Association (SOJA) will host a celebration of the one-year anniversary of the renovated Ashland Japanese Garden. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, and all are invited.
SOJA will demonstrate the art of origami, there will be a bonsai tree display, and Dobra Tea will serve freshly brewed Japanese teas. Volunteer docents will be on site to answer questions and provide info about the history and meaning of the garden.
The Ashland Japanese Garden is located in historic Lithia Park up from the Butler Memorial Bandshell on Winburn Way across from the Pickleball Courts. Entry and participation in the event in the Ashland Japanese Garden are free, but your support helps to maintain the garden, allowing it to expand and grow. Donations may be made online or at the garden.
Please visit the Ashland Japanese Garden website, AshlandJapaneseGarden.org, to donate or for more information on the garden. The website includes the history of the garden, information about the generous donations that made this authentic Japanese Garden possible, the designer and more.
