UPDATE on March 11, 2021 - AARP ASHLAND TAX-AIDE is FULL.
Please call AARP at 888.227.7669.
AARP Tax-Aide will be offering free tax preparation services again this year (beginning February 10, 2021), but using a process intended to keep taxpayers and our tax counselors safe in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines provided by the authorities. The services will take place at the Ashland Public Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.
The process this year is designed to minimize physical contact yet allow us to prepare complete and accurate returns. Essentially there are four (4) steps. You will be asked to:
Pick up a packet at the Ashland Library during regular hours – This includes documents that you will need to bring to your appointment (see below) as well as documents to fill out so that we have all of your information for the 2020 tax year
Request an appointment – Once you have all of your information put together, you will use the AARP site to request an appointment for a brief meeting with a tax counselor at the Library. Add yourself to the Wait List (instructions inside packet)
Meet with a tax counselor – Bring your information packet to the Ashland Library for a brief review with a tax counselor, who will then scan your documents and return them to you. At that meeting you will be scheduled to come back and pick up your return
Return for tax return – Your return will be prepared and reviewed by tax counselors working remotely. Then the return will be printed out and reviewed with you by a tax counselor at the Ashland Library.
You must wear a proper face covering (nose and mouth) and maintain social distancing at all times.
