Community Development/Engineering Services Building –
CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING, 5:00 pm
Historic Commissioners Present: Dale Shostrom, Terry Skibby, Sam Whitford, Alex Krach, James Watkins, Henry Baker, Tom Giordano, Allison Renwick
Commission Members Absent: Keith Swink

Mr. Whitford moved to approve the January 6, 2009 minutes as presented and the motion was seconded by Mr. Skibby. Ms. Renwick abstained due to being absent. The minutes were approved unanimously by the remaining Commissioners.
PUBLIC FORUM: There being no one wishing to speak, Chairman Shostrom closed the Public Forum.
PUBLIC HEARING:
PLANNING ACTIONS: 2010-00025
SUBJECT PROPERTY:
APPLICANT: Chris Iverson & Samantha Sperry/Ashland Cultural Center
DESCRIPTION: A request for Site Review approval and a Conditional Use Permit to operate a restaurant and performing arts center in the existing building at
Mr. Sibilger recused himself due to it being a quasi-judicial hearing.
Chairman Shostrom confirmed there were no ex parte contacts or any conflicts of interest.
Mr. Severson explained that the use would be an office and restaurant during daytime hours and there was adequate parking. At night the occupancy for the performing arts venue, up to 250 persons, would require additional parking.
The tenant, Christopher Iverson and manager, Chris Decker described the various parking options. Mr. Iverson explained there would be no exterior changes to the building. The venue would be alcohol free, organic, vegetarian, internet café. Mr. Skibby asked about the entrance. Mr. Iverson said it would be through the front main doors off the parking lot. He shared that the building had been tested and there would be no outside noise issues.
There being no further questions and no one in the audience to speak, the public hearing was closed.
The Commissioners said the liked the plan and felt it was a good location.
Mr. Whitford made a motion to recommend approval and Mr. Baker seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Chairman Shostrom and Mr. Skibby said they would take pictures prior to the next meeting. The remaining Commissioners would view the proposed nominations and be prepared to make selections at the March meeting.
