Green Debris drop off days... Be fire-free!

City of Ashland joins local partners to help all Jackson and Josephine County residents clean up their green debris and be fire-free!

Trailer with green debris, ready for drop offAshland Fire & Rescue, Recology Ashland, Jackson County Emergency Management and the Rogue Valley Fire Prevention Cooperative are proud to announce the 12th Annual FREE Green Debris Drop Off Day on Saturday, April 27 and Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both days, at Valley View Transfer Station, 3000 Valley View Rd. Create a Fire Adapted yard before fire season starts by removing potential wildfire “fuel.”

This event is for all Jackson and Josephine County residents. Drop off your green debris free of charge and challenge yourself and your neighbors to bring as many Green Debris loads as possible. Removing wildfire fuel like leaves, pine needles and small branches significantly reduces wildfire risk and helps prevent wildfire spread.

Accepted materials include organic green debris like leaves, pine needles, small branches (up to 6 inches in diameter), brush, and other green debris. Please leave prohibited materials such as trash, stumps, logs, firewood, soil, dirt, rocks, treated lumber at home. If you bring green debris in bags, ensure they are emptied and taken home.

For more information, visit ashland.or.us/GreenDebris or call 541.482.2770. Thank you to Jackson County Emergency Management and the Rogue Valley Fire Prevention Cooperative for funding this year’s event. “We are better together!”
