TID Aerial Photos
These historic aerial photos were produced by Talent Irrigation District to aid in their work. They were recently shared with the City of Ashland via Jackson County GIS Services, and provide a unique perspective on Ashland's history.
The two photo sets are linked to an Adobe Acrobat map of Ashland based on public land survey sections. In order to view a section photo, first open the index map and find your area of interest, and then simply click on the section label.

Notes on Processing
In order to create near-seamless photo coverage, multiple photos had to be 'stitched' together for each of the photo sets. This has resulted in a varying visual quality within each section photo. Also, the section boundaries (shown in a faint red line) are approximate due to photo distortion and processing.
The 1952 photoset has a better resolution, and this creates a crisper look when zoomed in close, but it also creates a larger file size and thus a slightly longer download time. A few photos are missing so there are some sections that are not represented. The 1939 photoset is a better coverage of the Ashland area, but the resolution of the photos is not as good. Finally, there are some sketch lines and notes on some of the photos themselves. These notes were on the original documents.
