Residences affected by the water shut off will have received a letter indicating as such.
On Thursday May 20th the Ashland Water Division will be conducting water system flushing in a few neighborhoods around town to remove harmless deposits that build up over time in the City water mains. These deposits when disturbed by firefighting activity or unexpected water flow conditions can cause your water to be discolored. Flushing to remove these deposits can also cause discolored water, to avoid having this discoloration enter residences' plumbing system we will be shutting water off from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm to particular addresses, you will have gotten a letter earlier this month if you will be affected. After water service is restored affected homes and nearby locations may experience some residual discoloration, if this occurs please run your cold water tap for a few minutes and avoid doing laundry, etc. until the water is clear again.
We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate your patience while this maintenance project is underway. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call the Water Division at (541) 488-5353.
