The Information Systems Division is responsible for the City's technology environment, which consists of computers, servers, software, IT purchasing, and technical/user support.

The City's portfolio has grown to over 350 PCs and mobile devices, more than 50 business systems supporting eight major and many minor service sites, including City Hall, the Utility Service Center, Community Development, water and wastewater treatment plants, Parks offices, a Senior Center, and multiple public safety and facilities.

The Division Mission: Enhance the City's departments and operational efficiencies through the effective application of technology.

Recent & Current Initiatives Include:

  • Network Infrastructure Updates – Replacement of network switching equipment throughout all City sites to provide high-speed connectivity throughout the organization and beyond.
  • Voicemail System Replacement – Upgrading the City’s telephone voicemail system to a more dependable, modern, and feature-rich system to improve communication interactions with citizens and between departments.
  • Desktop Tool Upgrades – Implementation and maintenance of the City’s common desktop productivity tools – both in-house and cloud-based – including email, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and publications.
  • Intranet – Implement an internal solution to provide online staff directories, calendars, document management for common forms and templates, announcements, news, and alerts.
  • Managed Computing Environment – Implement solutions to manage asset inventories, software installations, software version control, and remote-support, replacing manual processes.
  • Strategic Planning – Set and maintain long-term direction and goals for the City's use of information technologies.
  • Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity – Administer technology assets to reconstitute business systems and resources in the event of disaster.
