Email from Seltzer to SERJ

Hi Everyone,

Due to time constraints at the last meeting I was unable to report on the following;

  1. This is the link to apply to serve on a commission.  If you know of someone who might want to serve you can send them this link.

  1. A representative(s)  from the Housing and Human Services Commission will attend your May meeting.  There are a few areas where the work of HHSC and SERJ overlap and they are eager to talk about that.  Specifically, they may have funds for DEI training.

  1. I have contacted the Planning Commission about attending the May meeting and I have contacted the Public Art Commission, Say Their Name, Truth to Power and the Ashland Chamber/Travel Ashland about attending an upcoming SERJ meeting.  The Planning Commission will likely attend in May, I’ll know more soon.  The Ashland Chamber/Travel Ashland is eager to attend and will let me know when they are able to schedule it.  I have not heard from the other groups.

  1. I spoke with Joe Lessard about the calendar and the banner expense.  He met with the IT Director and the master calendar is on the priority TO Do list.  Joe has given him a lot of other tasks and the To Do list is long and he is unable to tell me when the project will be completed.  Regarding the holidays available to be added to the calendar: The software includes every holiday of every country in the world AND it includes Islamic Holidays (both Sunni and Shia), Jewish Holidays and Christian Holidays. Staff has been instructed to add the Islamic and Jewish holidays to their desktop calendar.

Joe cannot commit to allocating the funds for the banner at this point.  He will know more about the availability of funds in mid-May.

Thanks,

Ann
