Marijuana & MIP Alcohol Diversions

MIP Marijuana & Alcohol Diversion
The Court offers a diversion program for both MIP marijuana and alcohol violations. This program is designed to keep a conviction for a MIP Alcohol or Marijuana offense off of your record. A conviction for MIP offenses may result in the suspension of your driving privileges for up to one year per ORS 809.260.

The requirements for the MIP Diversion program are as follows:

  • You have not had any previous MIP alcohol or marijuana convictions.
  • You have not previously participated in a diversion program to keep an Alcohol or Marijuana related conviction off your record.
  • You do not have or plan to obtain a Medical Marijuana Card (in any state).

If approved for the MIP Diversion program you will have six (6) months to complete the following:

  • Pay $205 Diversion Fee. SOU students will be given the option to complete 10 hours of community service with SOU. If completed the fee will be reduced by $100.00.
  • Complete the Online Alcohol or Marijuana Class through 3rd millennium.
If all conditions are completed successfully within the six (6) month diversion period, your citation will be dismissed.
