Fall 2021 Basic Training Cancelled
Due to transitions in staffing and the restrictions to holding in-person classes due to Covid, the scheduled CERT training for this Fall has been cancelled. Stay tuned for updates as we plan the Spring 2022 training. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Below, is an example of what a Basic Training schedule may look like:
Training is broken up into numerous modules over several weeks including
October 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 and November 2, 3, 6 - See specific times below:

Training consists of more than 25 hours of instruction split into smaller modules culminating in a final exercise. NOTE: Participants must attend and complete all training modules in full to become certified.
Ashland CERT’s Basic Training Course is offered twice annually and is FREE to residents of Ashland and the surrounding area who are interested in being prepared for disaster. Course completion is required for anyone seeking to establish volunteerism within CERT.

Step 2: Download, fill and return the Basic Training Registration Document 14 days prior to class start

'Mock' Victim Volunteer Registration Waiver
Locations:
***Classes may be held remotely***via Zoom. Final determination will be made one month prior.
For the final disaster simulation please dress for all weather and wear pants and boots or sturdy sneakers. The CERT office has basic protective equipment for you to wear if you do not bring your own (such as hard hat, safety vest, work gloves, goggles/sunglasses, and knee pads). You must wear PPE during the simulation for everyone's safety. ***This portion depends on COVID.

- Two-way Radio Communications
- Real-life Disaster Simulation (COVID-dependent)
