
The
National Weather Service Medford Office has issued a winter storm warning for Ashland and the surrounding area. Storm warning in effect from Monday, 7 p.m. to Tuesday, 1 p.m., February 13 – 14. Elevations about 1500 feet can expect snow accumulations of three (3) to six (6) inches, with seven (7) to 10 inches about 2500 feet. A winter weather advisory is in place above 500 feet with snow accumulations of two (2) to four (4) inches.
An emergency shelter at 48 Fifth street has been authorized by the City Manager. The shelter will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m., Monday, February 13 to the morning of Friday, February 17. (The shelter may be extended depending on weather conditions--- notice will be posted on the City website and social media.) This is a no-frills shelter, which means individuals should bring their own bedding. Well behaved pets are welcome. The City has four trucks equipped with snowplows and trained staff to operate the plows. Snowplowing will be done according to pre-established priority routes. For example, routes to the Ashland Hospital and major arterials will take precedence over collector streets and neighborhoods. View the
