Red Flag Warning For Increased Fire Danger: Are You Ready?

The National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning for increased fire danger starting Thursday at midnight and lasting through Saturday at approximately 10:00AM.

This is a good time to make sure you are ready for any fires that could threaten our community. Here's what you can do:
  • Make sure your family, friends, and neighbors are signed up for emergency alerts on the City Nixle page.
  • Make an evacuation plan and have your Go Kit ready. Take only one car and avoid parking on the street if possible.
  • Know your evacuation zone and all routes in and out.
  • Make sure your home is fire ready by removing leaves, needles, and bark mulch from your roof, gutters, and within five feet of the building and keeping all plants lean, clean, and green.
City of Ashland departments are staffing up our response and prevention capacity along with ODF Southwest Oregon and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to respond to any fires in our area.
