Red Flag Warning Issued for Monday, September 6th

The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for gusty winds and low humidity today between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.

This is a good time to make sure you are ready for any fires that could threaten our community. Here's what you can do:

Sign up for emergency alerts on the City Nixle page.
Make an evacuation plan and have your Go Kit ready.
Know your evacuation zone and all routes in and out.
Make sure your home is fire ready by removing leaves, needles, and bark mulch from your roof, gutters, and within five feet of the building and keeping all plants lean, clean, and green.

Ashland Fire & Rescue is staffing up our firefighting capacity along with ODF Southwest Oregon and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to respond to any fires in our area.
