Smoke and Fire Update

UPDATE on 8/11/22: Smoke in the valley is now mostly from the Six Rivers Complex fires burning far away from us in Northern California near the Trinity River. The McKinney Fire has solid fire lines with growing containment each day and smoke is having minimal impacts on us at this time. New fires continue to pop up and conditions can change quickly. To monitor air conditions, check the Air Quality Index at smokewiseashland.org

Previous post:
Smoke will continue to impact our area this week from the McKinney Fire to the south of us. The McKinney Fire is not making any significant movement toward the Oregon border at this time. Ashland Fire & Rescue is monitoring the fire situation with help from the Oregon Department of Forestry. We will notify you if the situation changes. Please take precautions to avoid smoke and heat exposures and sign up for alerts through Nixle.
