Controlled Burning Continues West of Ashland this Week

Lomakatsi Restoration Project and Grayback Forestry, Inc. will again burn 2.5 miles west of Ashland on Wednesday, April 21st. This property is part of a developing network of controlled burns that will create safer conditions for fire response and the community this summer. There's still a long way to go, but this is a critical piece! We will keep managing prescribed fire in this area through spring as conditions allow.

Smoke from the controlled burn will be highly visible. We want to thank everyone for your patience, we understand smoke is not always a pleasant sight after the fires in Southern Oregon but we are pressing forward with prescribed fire due to its significant benefits for nature and safety of the community. We appreciate all the fire professionals on the controlled burns who work so hard on our behalf.
