The Ashland Forest Resiliency has a controlled burn planned south of Talent Avenue off S. Belmont Road on Thursday, February 12th. The controlled burn will be visible from Talent Avenue, Highway 99 and Interstate 5. There could be some smoke south of Talent Avenue near Belmont Road. Crews with Lomakatsi Restoration Project will be on site managing the controlled burn and monitoring smoke. The Ashland Forest Resiliency thanks the community for continued patience as we remove excess fuels to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire for our drinking water, community and wildlife habitats.
Free Air Purifier Program for Qualified Applicants
Smokewise Ashland has a limited supply of air purifiers available and is currently accepting applications for persons who are sensitive to smoke. If members of your household are under the age of 15, over 65 or have pre-existing heart or lung, asthma or COPD we encourage you to apply by midnight on February 21st.
