The Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) has made the decision to not open the

Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool for the 2020 season, based on extraordinary requirements for pool operations related to COVID-19. The pool historically opens for the season in June and offers swim lessons, lap swim and recreational swimming to the community through mid-September each year.
In recent weeks, Ashland Parks and Recreation staff has been researching the possibility of operating the Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool safely with guidance from aquatic professionals and public health authorities. Due to COVID-19 and strict public health guidelines, reopening the seasonal pool is not possible with available resources. Timelines and logistics are challenging, and Ashland Parks and Recreation could not safely manage the pool under current guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Ashland Parks and Recreation is in the design phase for a new pool and the design process will continue. At this time there is no timeline for the physical construction of the new pool; however, Parks Commissioners will be meeting in June to discuss priorities and funding for Capital Improvement Projects, including the Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool rebuild.
