Two controlled Burns Planned for Monday, March 9th
On Monday, March 9th controlled burns just west of town will be managed by Ashland Forest Resiliency partners and Ashland Parks and Recreation staff to increase community wildfire safety. Burns are located along upper Ashland Mine Road, at the top of Strawberry Lane and Westwood St, and upper Strawberry Lane just outside the city limits.
Potential Smoke Impact
Smoke will be visible from parts of Ashland, Westwood Drive, upper Strawberry Lane, Wright's Creek neighborhoods and Ashland Mine Road. No roads or trails will be closed. Smoke sensitive people should avoid areas closest to the controlled burns; if you smell smoke, stay indoors and keep windows closed.
