Controlled Burn Season Starts Today, Monday Dec. 2nd
Continuing into our 10th year of working to protect Ashland and our forests from summer wildfires, the AFR Stewardship Project will conduct a controlled burn of slash piles today, December 2nd, on Frank Hill Road in the Ashland Mine neighborhood just west of town above Hwy 99 and Valley View Rd intersection. Smoke will be visible throughout the day and may intensify in the early evening along Hwy 99 between Ashland and Talent. This burn is the first of the burn season that will last until fire season begins in June of 2020.
