Ashland Canal Piping Project Survey and Listening Session

The City of Ashland would like to hear from residents about the proposed Ashland Canal Piping Project. The project addresses fixing the two-mile section of the Talent Irrigation District (TID) canal that runs through the city limits, otherwise known as the Ashland Canal. The project includes options on how to address water loss and contamination from E. coli. For the full project overview, go to

The Council will be holding a listening session on Monday, June 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1175 E. Main Street. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on the project. For those who are unable to attend, there will be an online survey on the project which can be found by going to and selecting the Ashland Canal Piping: A Water Efficiency/Water Quality Project option. The survey will be open from June 4 until June 18.

The Ashland Canal Piping Project will be discussed on Monday, July 1 at a Council study session. A decision on the project is tentatively scheduled for the Tuesday, July 16 Council meeting.
