COVID-19 Freeze Brings Slight Changes to City and Parks Services
Posted: Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Governor Kate Brown has placed the entire state on a Two-Week Freeze to help stop the rapid spread of COVID-19 that has high potential to overwhelm healthcare resources. The Freeze measures will be in effect for at least two weeks, from November 18 through December 2.
The Freeze will have only slight impacts to the services the City and Ashland Parks provide to the community, primarily because access and services have remained under modified operations since Jackson County moved to Phase II of reopening.

Under the Statewide Freeze:
  • The Lithia Park ice rink will remain closed to the public
  • The Oak Knoll Golf Course club house building will be closed, but the course is still open for golfers to play outside, socially distanced.
  • Outdoor sports courts will experience limits on numbers of players at any one time. Signs will be posted at the courts.
  • All City and Parks buildings remain closed with appointments and phone access available.
  • All critical functions of health, sanitation, and public safety will continue uninterrupted.
There are additional restrictions on gatherings, restaurants, gyms, retail stores, grocery stores, and both indoor and outdoor gatherings. Details of the Statewide Freeze at govstatus.egov.com/or-covid-19/
The City and Ashland Parks would like to remind the community to take precautions during this unprecedented spike in COVID-19 infections throughout the County by staying physically distanced from those outside your household, wearing a facemask, and washing hands regularly.
