East Main Property Improvement Project

Ashland Parks and Recreation is in the design phase for a new park in Ashland at the 2228 East Main Property Map East Main St Property. This 5.52-acre open space was purchased in 2018 from the Shaffer family, a long-time Ashland family who acquired the property in the 1960s. The East Main Improvement project will offer the citizens of Ashland a park on the southeast end of town.

A public input session will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. Following a brief presentation, the group will divide into working groups to view the site plan and play with design elements, such as a dog park, children’s playground and community garden. The subgroups will have the opportunity to present ideas to the full group. Through collaboration, a vision for the East Main Property can be formed.

The public input session will take place in the Science Building at the Ashland High School. Plan to park in the parking lot on the corner of Mountain Ave and Siskiyou Blvd, or the parking lot on the corner of Mountain Ave and lower Iowa St (directional signs to the Science Building in the IVC will be posted).

In addition to the session on October 24, you can stay up-to-date and watch the progress on the 0 East Main property on the Ashland Parks and Recreation Improvement Projects page, gis.ashland.or.us/parks/cip.
