In consultation with the Fire Marshal, Fire Chief and the Wildfire Division Chief, Ashland Fire & Rescue is resuming all open burn permits as of today, May 15th, 2019. Rain and cooler temperatures have lowered fire danger and allowed us to reopen burn season. Burn season will continue until the Oregon Department of Forestry declares fire season. Permit holders will need to reactivate burn permits in accordance with Jackson County’s daily burn status and Ashland Fire & Rescue’s burning regulations.
Ashland Fire & Rescue asks that all Ashland residents remember the Be Ready, Be Set, Go! evacuation levels. Be prepared for the possibility of evacuation at READY or Level 1. Be READY now by preparing an emergency and personal supplies kit, develop an evacuation plan, and become Firewise by removing combustible plants and debris around your home and from the roof. Find more information about Be Ready, Be Set, Go! at ashland.or.us/evacuation and sign up for emergency notifications at ashland.or.us/nixle.
