Ashland Forest Resiliency Spring Underburning to Begin
Ashland Forest Resiliency partners expect good weather and plan to begin spring underburning this week. Mild fires managed by professional fire teams are an important process for cycling nutrients and helps reduce the ground fuels, small shrubs and young trees. When we have controlled burns, you can now see them on the new Ashland Forest Resiliency watershed camera and webpage.

Some of our prescribed burns will be near town or along your favorite hiking trail. The best way to receive notifications is direct to your cellphone. Please sign-up by texting WATERSHED (message line) to 888777 (recipient).

The Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship Project (AFR) is a collaborative forest restoration project that reduces the risk of severe wildfire across public and private land in and around the Ashland Watershed by thinning overcrowded forests and conducting controlled burns.
