The ad hoc Committee on the Ashland City Recorder Position is charged with examining the question of whether the Ashland City Recorder should be an elected or appointed position. The Committee’s examination may lead to recommendations including but not limited to: referring a charter amendment to make the position appointed; referring a charter amendment that leaves the position elected but establishes minimum qualifications for the office; or leaving the position as is but removing the financial/treasury duties of the position, through charter amendment and/or code amendment. The Committee shall conduct its deliberations in duly noticed public meetings and shall provide opportunity for public input at each meeting.
The Committee will report its recommendations to the full Council no later than February 2, 2016.
