Historic Districts

The four Ashland Historic Districts including the Downtown District, the Siskiyou-Hargadine District, the Railroad District, and the Skidmore Academy District each represent significant periods of Ashland’s early development. The historic integrity of each these districts is maintained through specific land use requirements, as well as eligibility for incentives such as tax deferments through the State Historic Preservation Office for historic properties within the designated National Register Districts. The Historic District Map presents the boundaries of both the local historic districts as well as the National Register boundaries.

A detailed inventory for each
Historic District, including descriptions of individual properties within the National Register Districts, can be found by following the links below:

Further historic aerial photographs of these areas are also available online although they do not show the district boundaries.
