New Online Permit System Debuts February 20, 2024

The City of Ashland is pleased to announce our new customer service portal, Citizen Self Service, which will streamline permitting and plan review procedures, bring increased transparent to each step of the process, and provide the community quick, intuitive self-service access for achieving their construction and permitting needs. 

Utilizing the customer portal, popular Building, Planning, and Public Works permits can be applied for and processed online, including:
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Structural Permits
  • Renewable Energy Systems
  • Residential Remodels, Additions, and Decks
  • Grading & Excavation Permits
  • Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, and Fire Suppression Systems
  • Signs, Fences, New Address, Zoning Permits, and Pre-Application Conferences
  • Right-of-Way Closures, Street & Alley Excavations, and Miscellaneous Concrete Permits
In addition to applying for permits and scheduling inspections, users can also conduct research and obtain permitting information on all applications processed by the City of Ashland over the last 5+ years.
