Ashland Senior Phone Buddy is a program of the Senior Services Division of Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission. The program's goal to increase social connection for older adults. Volunteers make fun, social phone calls to one or more “buddies” who may be isolated at home or just seeking more connection in their lives. Regular social calls have been proven to foster well-being and improve physical health for both the caller and the recipient.

Are you seeking a COVID-safe volunteer role? You can help others from the comfort of your home!

Volunteers contribute 2 to 3 hours per week with a minimum one-year commitment, including initial training and bi-monthly meetings for continuing education and support. Please read the Volunteer Position Description to learn more, and call us with any questions. Note: There may be a wait until the next volunteer training. And after training, volunteers must often wait for the next buddy to enroll before a match can be made.
