TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS for Ashland Seniors

Free Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) Bus Passes

Ashland residents, age 62 and older may get a free "reduced-fare," non-transferable bus pass at the Ashland Senior Center. Qualified seniors may receive a refill of 20 rides every 10 weeks.

Valley Lift (RVTD)

Valley Lift is a shared ride, curb-to-curb, wheelchair accessible transportation service for people whose disabilities prevent them from using RVTD's lift equipped buses. Applications for this program are available at the Ashland Senior Center, by calling RVTD, or online. Free Valley Lift vouchers are available at the Ashland Senior Center for eligible Ashland seniors, 20 rides every 10 weeks.

Volunteer drivers provide transportation to medical appointments for seniors (60+) and the disabled. For transportation to a medical appointment, call ahead to make arrangement. Drivers may be able to make a quick stop before or after the appointment, such as the bank, post office, or pharmacy (Extra stops are at driver discretion, as they don’t get mileage reimbursement for this additional service).

TransLink provides Non-Emergent Medical Transportation for the following organizations ((Medicaid, CCOs): Jackson Care Connect, Primary Health of Josephine County, Sky Lake Medical Center/Cascade Health Alliance, and for open card members on OHP in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lake Counties. Service is free, but only for the listed insurances. Mileage reimbursement also available. See website for more details (Rider's Guide, Reimbursement Forms).

ReadyRide provides non-emergency rides to AllCare CCO (OHP/Medicaid) members for approved medical services which includes medical, dental, and mental health appointments. Private company providing non-emergency medical transportation for passengers needing wheelchair, stretcher or ambulatory services, includes postoperative pick-ups. Call for rates.

Ashland at Home

Ashland At Home (AAH) is "Ashland and Talent, Oregon neighbors helping neighbors."  For an annual membership fee, AAH coordinates volunteers to help members with services that assist them to live comfortably in their own homes and community as long as possible as they age. Assistance with rides is one of the services.
