The rapidly deteriorating surface of the Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool liner has forced Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) management to close the pool earlier than expected.
It will be closed beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2019 to all aquatic activities until all necessary improvements to the pool have been made, including addressing the failing pool liner.
APRC management have investigated possible ways the pool could be repaired and remain open and unfortunately, to date, there are no feasible options to stop the deterioration of the pool while remaining operational.
The Pool Ad Hoc Committee (a subcommittee of APRC) is nearing the end of its process to present recommendations to the Commission for the most appropriate way to address the issues surrounding the Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool operations in the short and long term. Information about the ad Hoc committee is available here.
