Senior Program Advisory Committee

In late February 2018, the Ashland Ad-Hoc Senior Program Advisory Committee (ASPAC) set Ashland Senior Center out to assist with the creation of a standing Senior Program Advisory Committee (SPAC) for the Ashland Senior Center/Program.

Applications for SPAC will be accepted from February 28 through March 28. The application process is now closed.

The purpose of SPAC will be to advise Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners on matters related to the Ashland Senior Program. The new committee will be made up of seven (7) members, consisting of five (5) program participant representatives and community partner representatives, with at least two (2), but no more than three (3), from each group. In addition, there will be one (1) Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioner and one (1) City Council liaison. SPAC member terms will be three (3) years, with no member serving more than two (2) consecutive terms.
Once SPAC members are appointed by Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners, they will create SPAC Bylaws, in collaboration with APRC staff and the approval of the Commission, at a regular business meeting. The SPAC may also choose to develop a strategic plan and revise their mission and vision statement concurrent with the adopted goals of the Commissioners.

The Ashland Senior Center, a division of APRC, is located at 1699 Homes Ave in Hunter Park. Learn more about the Ashland Senior Program at or call 541.488.5342.
