Emergency Prepared Business Program

Ashland's Emergency Prepared Business Program

IS BEING RECONSTRUCTED - MORE VALUABLE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW INCLUDING A RESILIENCY WORKSHOP TBD

Ashland Fire & Rescue's Emergency Prepared Business Program aims to educate Ashland's business owners, operators, and employees on a multitude of preparedness options to protect staff and patrons such as creating emergency plans specific to the business, creating an employee communication plan to contact staff when phones and other means are incapacitated, developing a business continuity plan to avoid loss of operations during disasters, and other mitigation efforts that can be implemented to assist in providing a safer environment.

The City of Ashland recognizes these businesses by officially designating them as such with a signifying sticker for the store front window or other publicly visible location where patrons can identify them as well.

Businesses can be placed on a list to attend workshops offered throughout the year to learn practical skills and gain an understanding of what is necessary to make an emergency prepared business successful. There is no cost for this guidance.

Topics include: Emergencies, Facilities, Communications, Responsibilities, Action Planning, Safety Statement, Vital Records, Continuity Plan, Security, and Drills / Exercises.
