Jury Duty

**The current jury pool runs from May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023**

Due to a clerical error, some jurors may have received a juror questionnaire stating their term of service is from January 1, 2023 until April 30, 2023. If you received a questionnaire after
May 1, 2023 listing the incorrect term please note that your term will be from May 1, 2023 until August 31, 2023. Please fill out and return your questionnaire to the Court by
May 15, 2023.
We apologize for the confusion.

Ashland Municipal Court typically holds jury trials on Wednesdays at 8:30 am, unless otherwise noted. You will be notified of the trial date approximately two weeks before the trial.

IF you are called and serve on a jury panel, you will not be called again during your term. However, if you are called and the trial does not proceed you may be recalled for a later date. Each term is 6 months long. Jury Duty is civic duty of each citizen.

Failure to respond to the jury summons may result in a finding of contempt of court.

Request to be excused:
The Court encourages your participation as a juror because it is an important civic duty. If you feel that you absolutely cannot serve as a juror, your request to be excused must be made in writing and should set forth your reasons. You will be advised of the Court’s decision on your request. If you are 70 years of age or older, you may request to be excused. If you do not submit a written request to be excused, you may be called to serve on a panel.  Only the Judge can excuse your service.

Submit your request to be excused (with your questionnaire) by email at: ashlandcourt@ashland.or.us
