SAI Swim Lessons is a nationally recognized swim instruction curriculum that builds swimming and water safety skills with an ages and stages approach.  Swimmers are organized in groups by age and ability with SAI Certified Swim Instructors.  Our instructors are trained to create safe and fun learning environments that promote your swimmers development while meeting safety and swim skill benchmarks.  Please review the information on this page to become better acquainted with SAI Swim Lessons and register your swimmer for the right class.

SAI Swim Lesson Level Information

StarBabies/StarTots (Age 6 months-3 years)

The purpose of this course is to foster TRUST AND COMFORT in the water for babies and toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years old.  A guardian or caregiver is required to be in the water with their swimmer to help build trust and comfort in the water as well as enforcing safe behavior in and around water.  This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or in-water survival skills.  It will provide a confidence-building, fun, and loving experience to establish a foundation for future success in the water.

Preschool (Age 3-5 years) & Swim School (Age 6 years and up)

Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies .  The color stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups.  Children progress at individual rates with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills and progress to advanced strokes.

Stroke School (Age 6 and up)

Swimmers that have completed the Green Stage of Swim School or successfully test into Stroke School will refine competitive swim strokes including Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Breaststroke.

Private Lessons (Age 3 and up)

The Daniel Meyer Pool offers private lessons throughout the swim season.  More information on availability of private lessons will be updated in May 2024.
