Ashland Parks & Recreation would like to thank the 43 youth who recently completed the Youth Conservation Corps this summer. The 2019 YCC program offered three four-day sessions working in our City parks and trails this past June and July.
Incoming eighth through twelfth graders from the Rogue Valley attacked invasive blackberries and scotch broom, removed forest fire hazards and chipped trails in North Mountain Park, Oredson Todd Woods, the Ashland Bike Greenway and Lithia Park.
Academic Community Service Hours
After successfully completing the program, participants earned 25 hours of academic community service per session plus recreation passes to the Daniel Meyer Pool and the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink.
