Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink

UPDATE November 27, 2022 - The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink will be open 4-8 pm on Sunday, November 27th. 

We are working to provide adequate staff coverage and return to a full schedule as soon as possible.  Be aware that weather and coverage issues can cause adjustments to our schedule. Please check back regularly for updates.

November Calendar

APRC and the City of Ashland hope you can recreate, eat and shop locally this winter. Holiday celebrations in Ashland include:

  • The Ashland Chamber & Travel Ashland’s Festival of Light--- Celebrate 30 years of magical moments this winter as they flip the switch on more than one million holiday lights! Watch for Santa at 5 p.m. on November 25, as he makes his way from the Ashland Public Library to the Downtown Plaza in a choreographed procession that will lead to the Grand Illumination of Ashland. Caroling, entertainment on the plaza and a season full of festive activities awaits.
  • The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will present, “It’s Christmas, Carol.” The play will open on November 23 and run through January 1, 2023.
  • Rogue World Music will offer the 2nd Annual Winter SoundWalk--- Walk, Look, Listen Dec 1 to Jan 6.

Admission/Rental Rates

Youth Admission (Ages 5 and under): Free
Youth Admission (Ages 6-13 years): $4
Adult Admission: $5
Skate Rentals: $3/pair

Single Admission Passes, Punchcards and Group Rates are available. Please contact rink staff after November 15, 541.552.2258.

Program Details 

Rec Skate - This is an ideal time for skaters of all ages to enjoy recreational ice skating time.  Regular admission rates apply and skate rentals are available. Hockey and figure skating is not permitted during Rec Skate sessions.

Cheap Skate - Come and enjoy a Rec Skate session with discounted rental skates! Skaters with their own skates pay regular admission.

Adult Hockey Skate - Hockey players age 16 and up can organize "pick-up" games and practice skills.  Equipment is not provided. Please keep other skaters safety in mind at all times.

Stick & Puck - This is a casual hockey skate time for all ages to enjoy the ice with their stick and puck. Organized games are not permitted at this time.

Free Open/Hockey Skate - The rink will be open for skaters to enjoy the rink at no charge.  Staff is not on site and skate rentals are not available. The rink may close intermittently based on weather conditions and maintenance needs.

Private Skating Lessons - Information for the 2022-2023 season is coming soon. Pre-registration is required. Please call 541.552.2258 after to schedule private instruction.

Frozen Tots - This session is designed to be a slow skating experience for less-experienced skaters who may be intimidated with larger skating crowds.  Ice scooters are available for younger skaters that meet the criteria.  We encourage novice skaters to "wall crawl" and find their balance on skates if possible.  All ages are welcome but we ask that skating activities are considerate of novice skaters safety.

School Programs - School field trips at the ice rink are not available at this time.  We are continuing efforts to recruit staff that will allow us to bring this program back.

Team Hockey/Group Skating Lessons - We are continuing efforts to recruit for capable instructors to lead instructional programs for hockey, basic skating and figure skating classes. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an instructor please contact Lonny Flora @ 541-552-2250.

General Info

The outdoor rink, an operation of APRC, is located at 95 Winburn Way, across from the Lithia Park playground, around the corner from the Plaza, and at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way. Bring the whole family! Our skate rentals accommodate toddler size 9-up to men’s size 15.

  • Concessions are not currently available for the 2022-2023 season. Please be sure to bring along snacks and beverages. Remember, food and beverages are not permitted on the ice surface. Benches are available outside the rink, where you can take a break and eat a snack.
  • Arrive ready to skate. Changing rooms are not available.
  • Ice scooters are provided by staff during Frozen Tots programming and special considerations where access to the rink is not possible otherwise.
