1978 - 6 Mile Race Results

The following results are presently all which are available for this particular race. They are sourced from microfilm research conducted of the archives of the local newspapers – the Mail Tribune (Medford) and the Daily Tidings (Ashland). There were photos in the archives for most of the races in the Daily Tidings, but they are not included here as they did not copy well. Additional results will be added should they become available.

Mail Tribune – Leonard Hill of Phoenix took first place in the Congressman’s Cup Race which kicked off the Fourth of July activities in Ashland. Hill competed against the largest number of entrants ever to enter an Ashland race. When the final tally was in, 186 started the race. Hill will have his name entered on a perennial trophy and he also received a first place trophy. Both trophies were made by Casa del Sol.
