The City of Ashland anticipates an annual allocation of approximately $204,812 in Community Development Block Grant funds for Program Year 2008 (July1, 2008-June 30-2009) by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Following the recommendation of the Housing Commission, the City Council has identified that $10,000 of this amount is to be awarded to the Fair Housing Council of Oregon to promote fair housing education and enforcement. The remaining CDBG funds, including prior year carryover funds, were designated to be applied to a yet identified project such as the purchase of property in support of the creation of affordable housing, the rehabilitation and preservation of affordable housing, and or the installation of public facilities in support of an affordable housing development.
