AF&R's FREE Green Debris Drop-Off, Sun, May 7, along with,
Gather your green debris for Ashland’s 12th Annual Green Debris Drop Off Day, this Sunday, May 7! 
Load your vehicle with flammable yard debris and drop it off for free at Valley View Transfer Station on Sunday, May 7, 2023. The Transfer Station will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. this Sunday to collect your flammable green debris like branches, leaves, needles, juniper, arborvitae, Mugo pine, or any other excess vegetation around your home. This event is available to Ashland residents, so please be prepared to show proof of Ashland area residence upon arrival. Visit ashland.or.us/greendebris for details about the event.
Volunteer Opportunity: If you would like to volunteer at this event to lend a hand - welcoming vehicles or assisting with unloading - please sign up here to volunteer. Bring your High School student and it can count towards their Community Service hours! Email Brian Hendrix with any questions.

Wildfire Preparedness Campaign – Be Firewise!
Join us and your neighbors to prepare for the upcoming wildfire season by following our four-month campaign sponsored by Fire Adapted Ashland and our partner The Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network. We will be sending messages each month with themes designed to help you protect your home from wildfire and get prepared for evacuation and smoke.
May's theme is to BE FIREWISE by adapting your landscaping to withstand embers and flames. Preparing your property to resist ignitions from windblown embers can keep your yard and home from igniting and prevent fire from spreading home to home as it did during the Almeda Fire. We all need to take responsibility for our own property to make our landscaping as fire reluctant as possible. Remove flammable vegetation and debris. Keep your yard Lean, Clean and Green. Many effective tasks are easy, inexpensive, and achievable. We can do this!
We’ve seen up-close the devastation that wildfire can bring to our communities. It is our collective actions now that can prevent the next fire from destroying our amazing community.
Request a wildfire risk assessment for your home: Ashland Fire & Rescue and the Fire Adapted Ashland Committee have created an all-volunteer “Wildfire Risk Assessor” Program (WRAP) to help us continue to build and maintain a resilient, fire adapted community. The Ashland Volunteer Wildfire Risk Assessor (WRA) performs wildfire home risk assessments within Ashland City limits to advise property owners and residents on the wildfire risks associated with their property and how to reduce those risks. With a new cohort of volunteers ready to help you - Request a FREE risk assessment HERE.
